So last night i took a whole bunch of photos at the Ra Ra Riot secret show. It was at the Mod Club, a venue where its not possible to take bad looking photos. Hope you like em.
So this summer i co-directed a documentary with James Featherstone from www.whatweseeiswhatyouget.com , which chronicled a day on the Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, Against Me, and Cancer Bats spring tour.
Its airing this sunday August 29th on Aux TV (ch 107 on Rogers, 138 on Shaw), at 8:00pm. It's really great and I'm so excited to have something I directed air on national television. If you own a TV set and have nothing better to do on sunday, check it out!
So, this is the 2nd video i have done with the very lovely and talented Amanda Zelina. This time, we went the acoustic route, and filmed her doing a cover of Robert Johnson's "Ramblin'". A few years back before i knew Amanda, i saw a youtube video of her doing this cover, and i knew that i had to talk her into doing it again for the Wood & Wires Video Series. Here it is.
A while back, James and I shot an film with Florence and the Machine. Unfortunately we couldn't use the performance footage, but here's the interview anyway.
As Wade puts it, Black Lungs is an "everchanging scab lineup of his friends". Sometimes a punk band, sometimes a guitar/piano duo, and sometimes just a solo acoustic act, Black Lungs is the side project of Wade Macneil of Alexisonfire. Myself and james spent the afternoon with Wade as he shared a few songs, and the spoke about Black Lungs.
I know this is a re-post, but i really love this video that James and I made together earlier this summer. And in case you didn't feel like scrolling down the page, i thought i'd bump it right back up to the top.
